Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

November layoffs are a fact.

I hate that Halliburton is such a layoff happy company. Many of us were laid off recently and told that we could be subject to call back. Not so fast. I talked to my friend who still works at JRC, and he told me that the PGL's and the leadership have been having meetings since Monday about another layoff list. He said that November layoffs are a fact and that an additional 30% will be let go. Some areas will close and others will merge together. He said the order books are being manipulated to make the employees think that everything is ok. in his area, no new work is being released. He told me that some operations are currently being moved to Oklahoma and some sent overseas.

Please spread the word and prepare others for November.

People who are in the company or were in the company, there are high ups in the inside talking of the political injustice. there are text messages and voice recordings exposing the true waiting to surface. ((Stated per sources and whistleblowers)) Service leaders have exposed new frac management and HR. The Permian was very selective on how they laid off people before end of August, start of September, and mid September without a structural motived based on experience or amount of knowledge. It was more likely based on favoritism (A popularity contest). according to service leaders, they were asked to pick and choose their supervisors. Any left overs were in the chopping block, supervisors then were asked which hands they wanted to get rid of . Those hands were then let go. There were hands and supervisors with far greater knowledge, experience and better work ethic let go than the ones who stayed on board. If some of the hands and supervisors that currently stayed in were to be challenged on the technological advancement or performance by some previous employee, the current employee will not win. After the lay offs on mid September, the company started hiring again on September 29 holding a job fair on October 10 with specific instructions given to their service leaders not to rehire anyone who was laid off on the first set of lay offs even if they were eligible for rehire in accordance with their severance package. Anyone else laid off on the second set will require special permission from the new management. With that being set. Based on this information, if you were part of the first set of lay offs, there is a high probability you have been black listed or may be other more “reasonable reasons” . If you are part of the rest and you still want to go back, You may have a chance. To all the people currently serving in the company, it is all fun and games with you all until it comes back and they do it to you, you all self preserve during these times and protect these calamities instead of being fair and just to those who actually worked and try to uplift the company standards and believed in the company. These people have families, lifes trying to provide, feed their children and more and you all play this games with their future like nothing. Just a number on the board. This company used to be more supportive and family oriented. Now it has become a mafia build on “”alliances”” to go against less favorable individuals. It is sad. If you are not known by someone in power and you don’t establish a relationship with them, it doesn’t matter how much you actually care or try to be the best you will be picked off.

They come in waves but yeah it seems they're still getting randoms. A machinist was popped for a dr-g test at dbs last week. they're preparing for next year's downturn if the EIA prediction is any accurate.

Is it me or did the layoffs start around June and are still going on? Since June we've lost several people on our floor here at NB. Do you all think this is going to continue well into Dec 2025?

Firms often downsize because it is seen as a way to reduce costs, adjust structures, and create leaner, more efficient workplaces. But new research indicates that downsizing may actually increase the likelihood of bankruptcy. The research team examined 2010 data from 4,710 publicly traded firms and determined whether they declared bankruptcy in the subsequent 5-year period. After controlling for known potential drivers of both downsizing and bankruptcy, as well as numerous other factors, they found that downsizing firms were twice as likely to declare bankruptcy as firms that did not downsize.

why are all the posts/threads with valuable insider info being deleted? HAL management/HR are very busy reporting the posts/threads so they are deleted almost immediately.

@za Yes I got the email from HR and names have already been sent. Hardest thing I ve had to do and even though I am a manager, I feel my name has been submitted by my own manager.

@qw
U.S. ENERGY INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION (EIA) expects the price of crude oil to fall to below $60 per barrel by the end of the year and average near $50 per barrel through 2026.
By 2026, declining oil prices lead EIA to expect U.S. producers will pull back on drilling and well completion activity—a trend that has continued through most of 2025.

All of the PGLs and the leadership are in top level meetings today at PCOE. The order book in my area has been password protected. Yesterday when I looked at it, all of November has been erased. And 2026 is gone. This is real and people should be worried. If you're not, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Because they will su-k. I challenge all management to stop hiding and talk to us.

The cuts they are making in personnel this time is odd. High up members of management you wouldn't think would've been on the chopping block. They don't seem to be following the normal rating employees using several metrics and then cutting the lowest rated method.

dbs is doing <300 bits monthly. poland has all roller cone production and there's a plant in saudi that does all fix cutter. i've heard that we're supposed to get an independent asset audit as well. everything points to us being on the chopping block. the equipment is old, the facility just looks tired. i've spoken to others and we just feel it in the air. only way we survive is if somehow other psl's are absorbed but i somehow don't think that's the plan otherwise we would've seen that happen awhile ago.

@an
i've worked at some TERRIBLE companies in oil, so maybe i'm used to getting abused but comparatively speaking halliburton is not that bad of a place to work. I've learned a lot, met great people that taught me tons. This time however, the overall environment just feels different that it just gives me pit of my stomach feels so i've started to look around for the first time.

30% more though, my god, how bad is it gonna get?

I went through all this BS during Covid and back in 2014 downturn. They always let the good people go and they keep the horrible managers. I at one point got fairly close with sr management on TEAMS meetings and conference calls. What I discovered is those people literally do not care about anyone in the field. They are so far out of touch and removed from their actual workers that do the job that makes money for the company. I was shocked but not too shocked if that makes sense. I think we all know this deep down. Even though a lot of people there are brainwashed. It’s a privilege to work for Halliburton right lol. The fact is, Halliburton is a horrible company to work for and build a career at. They are not the best, anymore. Liberty and profrac do just as good or better. Their wireline is a complete utter joke. Cement is probably the only thing they are still exceptional at, better than anyone else. Horrible managers at all levels have destroyed a once great company. I’ve spoken to many company reps (company man) on many locations and too many times they have voiced their disdain for Halliburton. It’s time to move on folks, like I did. Don’t go back when things do pickup. Use your skills and knowledge somewhere else.

The very concerning part about it, is PCOE is on lockdown. You used to be able to just scan your badge and go in. Security isn't letting it happen. And they stop you from going upstairs.
