VP-level executives and above were assessed confidentially by the HR department in preparation for the next round of workforce reductions. According to a credible source, the evaluation considered factors such as salary ranges, employee engagement results, documented HR complaints about leadership behavior, and potential organizational liability. Multiple lawsuits tied to leadership actions have already been filed, creating significant financial and reputational risk for the company.

Optum owns WellMed.
@5w4 that's sounds like Optum not wellmed
Met with manager on 10/30 RIF's. Instructed to start scheduling 1 on 1 meetings with all impacted employees, including those on PTO beginning at 8 A.M., ET, with a directive to have all notifications completed by 11 A.M., ET.
@5vx what dept is your friend in that has to come in for mandatory meeting?
I know someone who is on PTO tomorrow and was told she had to come in to a mandatory meeting in person
Anyone know if PSU WellMed will be impacted ? New Mexico is one with Texas currently so if Texas gets impacted so does NM.
@5vp can confirm. everything coding related and reimbursement will be automated. anything with a transaction will be AI. Very soon other competitors will offer the same solutions but at far lower prices that will eat into our margin bringing us right back.
There isn't really a path to "double digit growth in 2027" like SH says. He's betting the Congress will change hands and beef up spending. Ain't gonna happen
Has anyone in WellMed received a meeting invite for today or tomorrow that seems like it would be about the layoff? I saw in another thread that emails were starting to go out.
@5tw claims? Optum REAL will eventually take over the claims process
@5tw how do you know? PBMs? Quality?
All divisions of Wellmed will be impacted.
@5rf Wellmed claims???
They came in promising everything. Booted us out of our clinics that they spent tons of money renovating only to merge us with another clinic. Wasted perfectly good equipment, furniture medical supplies and electronics that were in perfect working condition. They have closed clinics, laid of providers, nurses. Medical assistants, management, etc. It is so ridiculously run. I am so over WellMed, United Healthcare and Optum Rx. Extremely horrible run by people with no common sense or accountability!!!
@5q5 what’s Thursday at 1030?
@5rf but what departments or markets?
@5rf contracted or employed Wellmed what about ancillary services like imaging at home health
@4fj texas and Florida wellmed
@4vs that’s not how it happens, people disappear and then trying to figure out they didn’t leave anyone with that knowledge
any updates on what departments for Thursday 1030 or is it even still happening?
Anyone know the departments that will be impacted on the WellMed side?
Is this still happening .Any updates on departments?
@4vs SD and his minions are the opposite of "taking time" we are moving 100X like a cat chasing a fuzzy, sparkly bell.
They have to figure out what the workflow processes are before they can automate. Takes time to train the bot its not a magic wand. Good luck figuring all that out with the kludge of legacy and cloud based systems this place runs on. Another slide deck will drop and we will sitch directions again by January
Whoever it was that commented about AI taking over Optum Insight and WellMed was NOT joking. Just attended a mandatory employee townhall meeting and the company has begun integrating AI into workflow processes, guaranteeing position elimination throughout corporate.
@4jq Optum insight
@3f8 just because you are a mouse jiggler when from home doesn’t mean everybody is same. Most are lot more productive when working from home
OI means Optum Integrated, it offers several services by Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group.
What is OI?
Which City and States? Optus, Wellmed.
@318 I’m in Optum clinic and we were told about six weeks ago Wellmed clinic in same town was closing and merging with us 10/28. We have been making changes through out the office to make room for more staff etc. movers came and moved desks etc and 3pm we found out it was cancelled no explanation. Wtf
"Also dropping leases and keeping everyone WFH would be cheaper." -@rr. No it's actually alot cheaper to outsource "WFH" positions. It would also eliminate the nonsense of mouse jigglers for your "remote" desk setup.
@35h source?
@rr - well cutting executive salaries and reducing executive roles would do more than laying off people who actually do the work to keep the place running. Also dropping leases and keeping everyone WFH would be cheaper.
@2y9 - the quality of work from the offshore team is horrendous. We usually end up scratching everything they do and start from scratch
I will not give away my position, but I will say that I am a long time legacy employee with multiple connections in executive leadership. To answer the second part of your question is that AGI is unlikely to fully replace a DRN, but these cybernetic tools will automate information processing and documentation tasks much more efficiently, allowing nurses to reclaim their time to focus on patient interaction and direct care, rather than repetitive and cumbersome administrative work.
@318 what was your position may I ask? Were you a DataRAP nurse, PBM, Quality? Do you think they'll get rid if DataRAP nurses?
Wellmed integrity analyst on the chopping block phased out by AI.
@318 what department
well, this fact, the physician business managers for Wellmed
@318 was this today
