- Laid off: 165 (82 workers at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, 83 at Resurrection Hospital)
The layoffs are due to lost food service contracts at two Chicago hospitals. Compass Group had earlier begun reductions tied to contract losses, and these represent additional cuts. Some of the roles are being eliminated as the contracts end, rather than redeployed.
