On Tech Labor Imports

The h1b program afects the american workforce in big ways. Any action on this is way too late, it still needs to be done ASAP.

it's not only about grads who cant get jobs...

many experieenced workers are LR'ed or pushed aside.

We often even train replacements!!!

people with years of dedication lose out, not for lack of talent.

the program is pure fraud, big outsourcers (infy, tata, accenture, etc.) scoop up almost all visas. this is a business model for them, had it not been for this program they would not be able to compete.

This happens because companies chase cheaper, easier labor over domestic skill.

the US worker is the party that loses.

@a1 that survey was flawed.

You can’t compare all H1B to only cs majors. Many H1B worked in other industries.
The biggest flaw though was not comparing full year salaries.
If a h1 worker started in may, you can’t just ignore 4 months and claim he worked zero.
He wasn’t in the country and couldn’t work.

The world has changed.
People are now seeing us as a bully and that sentiment is spreading after the SCO summit in china.

My guess is we cannot ever stop workers from India coming here if we want access to the world largest population.

Start a petition on White House website, it might be seen by the government.
