Thread regarding Ford layoffs

External hires need to stop

Why the obsession with hiring cast-offs from other OEM at all levels? Are they trying to informally gain access to benchmarking practices of other companies? External hires have done nothing but bring more confusion and problems. Company is being driven into the ground.

@es Someone approved the idea to put the totally clueless and inept on payroll and in charge of decision making and making poor decisions at that. Now who could that be? Hmm.

@es I believe you. A toxic partner! The 'always' part might due to trauma-bonded employees.

Guess what? A friend of mine at GM is stating the same thing is going on there. Though they don’t have the RTO4 (yet), they are doing a ton of external hires and being forced to lower ratings to employees who are not deserving. So we just have a lazy susan of fired people rotating though the domestic OEMs. Ford has a fascination for Stellantis rejects, you know, the company that is the poster child for the highest quality.

@ct Not stupid. DESPERATE. Didn't you notice the sign in HR? "Note to all Applicants with a pulse, purse your lips and proceed to front of line".

No sense in applying for open positions. Every qualified person I know who has interviewed has conveniently been told they don't possess a unique skill set. And then in walks someone from Stellantis, Nissan or GM who was fired from their job. How is Ford this stupid? The recalls will never stop.

lol I noticed that they took away the link for “Opportunity Market Place” (or whatever it’s called) away from the at.ford.com tools for work tab. Really wanting to deter anyone from applying to other jobs. This place is a dead end.

@aj since when are they getting 4 year contracts? LL3 and below should all be at-will employment

Offers them 4 yr contracts. They don't work out and walk out with guaranteed salaries they didn't earn. Some they've hired in NY amd CA, they refused to relocate to MI since the remote has been lifted and one was recently fired with the cintracted pay I'm sure.

One in CA has asked for no meeting to begin until 8am pacific time (11am est). Sign me up! HA. They'll be let go soon with their 4 yr pay too I'm sure.

Hiring the rejects from other companies is one of the reasons this plane is in ruin. Especially hiring those from non automotive places. Just d-mb. DF is a prime example.

@OP It's called corporate kindness. Maybe Ford doesn't want their own employees to dig their own graves, so they hire others to do that. Then again. Why hire anyone at all? You are doing just fine on your own!
