Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Meeting number five today

Every single one with each person sitting at their desk bored out of their minds. Can we admit RTO only makes sense if everyone moved to Westlake?

@k3 Keep the job you have. Forced enjoyment of nonsense isn’t a good path.

Less than 1 job available for every job seeker. Appreciate the job you have because it's not fun right now in the job market.

My PL who is fully remote is always 5 - 10 Minutes late to meetings and drops off 5 minutes early. Never solves any real problem and just micro-manages and wastes our time. Most PLs and MDs at Schwab are pretty much useless and can be laid off.

@b9
That sounds more like IC levels. I thought it was higher for PLs.

Come on. We all know you need to give a status update on something that you don't have time to do because everyone keeps scheduling meetings and breathing down your neck. You also need to have another meeting with 20 people so 2 people can discuss who should be added to another meeting. Also, a team has been planning a release for a month and they decided to notify you today 3 hours before the release that they need your support with testing. Be a good collaborative Schwabbie.

Um we need to be intentional about finding time to hold space to build spontaneous culture at the good ole kool aide cooler.
