Whos ready for real talk? More like pipe dreams about segment marketing. Has anything valuable at all come from this?

Going back to the early 2000's, IMO it seems every five years or so a new PSD VP/Pres has consistently come in who has no credible experience with the products, applications, industries, or thought leaders within this business. Due to this and the complexity of the safety industry, time is wasted, investment is misaligned, AND segment marketing gets resurrected as a great new idea. Unlike marketing jobs that have direct accountability to a P&L, segment marketing can create their own easily attainable fuzzy metrics that ultimately drives little measurable/honest growth (of course with some exceptions). If not segment marketing resurrection, these PSD VPs will change the name of the Division/job titles/product groupings, and/or sales organizations claiming it better "aligns ourselves with our customers."
