Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

At the risk of sounding trollish, I know this is just the beginning of even more significant workforce reduction plans. Knowing what I know, it’s beyond my comprehension why anyone would voluntarily come to Cisco h less they had zero other options. I kinder the guise of “making tough decisions”, they’re just getting started and then timing of these recent layoffs just after the earnings call is a perfect demonstration of their level of integrity. Everyone on my team is looking for a new company because this place has become a disgusting mess

Cisco had previously stated (years ago) a deliberate reduction in SJ footprint, both in real estate and headcount. How are you surprised by getting LR'd in SJ? Sounds like you're not paying attention.

do not fall for the promise of promotion or advancement

The only people who will remain will be the drones who mindlessly follow the latest whim of the folks above them. Don't question, not even in an effort to make minor incremental improvements. Just do. Lie about how well the org is performing. Make up metrics that make your boss look good. Or else get the boot.

As we learnt in the U.K., either you get a Patel god or you are gone one way order.
