It’s shameful to discard employees so casually

Even record profits don’t stop leadership from letting go of the very people who created that value. We’re the ones who built this success, yet we’re being treated as if we’re disposable.

@OP and a days notice on meeting invites would have been nice too. Sitting here just waiting is wrong. Terrible how they handled this.

the problem is edward jones is not just a "company," its a partnership. they had a cautious and conservative way of doing things that the penny regime has discarded in favor of wall street style fu-kery.

Companies don’t exist to guarantee lifetime employment; they exist to stay competitive, profitable, and sustainable. Markets shift, priorities change, and efficiency becomes critical. But assuming that past success guarantees future security ignores how dynamic and demanding business environments are.
