Today is a sad day. Edward Jones will never be the same. In the face of record profits and huge executive payouts the people that make the company what it is have been thrown in the gutter like trash. Those that remain will never have the loyalty they had before. Every word that comes out of Penny’s mouth will just be seen as lip service. In the end we are all victims of the corporate elite. People like Penny will sacrifice the rest of us for another bottle of $10,000 wine in a heartbeat.

This is likely the beginning of the end. Sadly Penny was the first managing partner who never met Ted while he was alive. Who knew you could lose the faith of all your associates and a 100 year old culture so fast… Sad times at EJ.
@a3 I feel exactly the same. I took this job over another (higher paying) position because of the culture, flexibility, and the fact that Jones “doesn’t do layoffs”. I stupidly thought this was going to be my “forever” firm. Now I’m watching the company crumble and questioning why I ever came here in the first place. I feel like it was just a bait and switch.
I was so excited to get my job here. I felt like I really made it, I got into a good company young and that company had a good reputation and culture and would take care of me until I retired or decided to move on one day of my own accord. It is a shell of its former self. It's honestly devastating. I am grateful for the good years I got here. But having to do it all again- start over, struggle, hopefully find a decent job that pays enough for me to survive- it weighs heavily on me. I dont regret coming here. I am just so sad.
@OP well said. I was so proud to join the firm and spoke so highly of our culture. I looked up to Penny for all of it to come down to this? It’s absolute anguish how they are going about it all
