"Awful Holiday Season For BBBY"

"U.S. web traffic for Bed Bath & Beyond dropped a startling 19% in November, based on the analyst's findings. The declines worsened from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday with a crash of about 25% versus the prior year."

Is anyone surprised by this?

I am not a retail or market analyst expert by a long shot but I do consider myself rather well informed. What I lack in formal education I make up for in wisdom. I am sure that senior management is doing everything they can to "right the ship"...I equate their efforts to the last days of the Na-i regime. Denial of the inevitable. Eventually Bed Bath and Beyond will fall. Bed Bath and Beyond was one of my favorite places to shop. It is one of the few retail destinations that I would accompany my wife and not sit in our car and read. A great product assortment, clean, well lit, and great associates.
We are in difficult times. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. There will be a reckoning someday. The only bright side right now is the stock market. People are hurting more every day and that segment of the population is growing. They will not shop for new sheets, pillow cases etc when food, rent, energy costs and medical insurance the necessities, are eating up people's incomes at an astonishing rate. I am glad I am in the autumn of my life. I feel for my grandchildren. The current economic situation has been building for decades. The solution to any problem is spend...spend...spend. In the future we are going to run out of the other guy's money. I will close by saying we ALL share in this mess.

Unfortunately nothing has changed the past 6 months. No pillows, window panels, gadgets, squeegees or coffee.
They run a hot price on a category, such as coffee, sell out and it takes 2 weeks to see it start coming back in.
Customers keep asking why we are out of basics. It’s getting old and embarrassing. Time to move on, sadly this place will not make it.

Take a look at Leo's column in Seeking Alpha if you don't think this is approaching terminal velocity. The "apes" he refers to are the longs, I assume. Telling them to get out by January. Echos others who think the next report on "earnings" will only be to state that they have "earned" bankruptcy.

They fired me Just to find a reason to save literal Pennies. No this doesn’t shock me.

It would shock me if suddenly I was the problem and getting rid of me was the start of the solution lol. 😂

The reddit people just pump and dump, but now on a daily basis. They are just riding a wave until it hits the sand beach. Worst thing that happened to the perception of the stock was the one rich kid getting richer on it. They saw Cohen pump and dump and grokked anyone could do it. Problem is, there is a limited number of times the really big dump reward comes up. But you are more than right that they got scammed by not doing their homework and certainly having no clue to how the store is run. It is just a cash cow to them until the milk runs out. If you go on the stock sites, they con each other as well. AMAZON WILL BUY THIS and such. Too much pot smoking. Too much unrealistic thinking. Some would be happy at 15 bucks a share. In 2015 it was $79 a share.

Wall St can smell a skunk.

I drove by the store I last worked at, and they are having a 20% entire store sale-----or more accurately a liquidation. There were no cars in the lot! Customers realize that even with the discount there was nothing to buy.

Wake up disbelievers it is happening and has been for sometime! My Store as of yesterday has no pillows and everything is still being flexed out. Went from 12 to 14 pallets. Lucky to get two now. I suspect the people on here with their comments that haven’t witnessed what’s going on or believing what’s going on are probably people in corporate! If you can’t run a company who’s gonna hire you when it’s all over and your résumé says Bed Bath & Beyond?

@ahr+1k3g6tRt The Reddit apes that's who! 😆 One even posted about his store closing soon and they're all in disbelief. As a matter of fact, some don't believe him at all. Surely not as the stores are always packed with shoppers and always FULLY STOCKED! 🤨🙄Those id--ts don't realize that more than likely the store shelves are FULLY FLEXED. Smh.

So how long does a layoff page stay functional once the company completely shuts down? Guess we will find out soon enough.
