Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

New Email Signature

Did anyone receive prior notification of the new Gainwell email signature?

Based on what I know of, no one across several accounts were informed ... it "just" rolled out.

Be sure to verify what's shown ... that may be your personal phone number and not work.

I'm waiting for someone off-shore to send me an email ... curious if they will still show "India Delivery" or if that has been removed.

or proper use of existing available technology.

the licenses and tools are already there, there just aren't proper processes and oversight

hence chaos, making it harder to accomplish the basics

Mr. Holland - my sources advise your instincts are likely correct based upon recent re-organization activity which shares resources, to new IT applications that consolidate service requests and new digital directories that distinguish client contacts from employee contacts. Don't understand the technology involved here but it appears to support your theory if your theory is increased offshore usage. Better technology would surely help with all this.

@2cz

The only company I know of that wastes an exuberate amount of time working off orphaned excel spreadsheets. They'll create an initial spreadsheet, share it with whomever and then never update it again, even when information changes or becomes obsolete. Better yet, they'll maintain sole ownership of the spreadsheet, so no one else can update it either.

My departments has to work off spreadsheets that haven't been updated in 'X' number of years. And if you propose a better manner of tracking data. Just be prepared to be shot down.

Knowledge and correct information is power. And those that keep the knowledge and correct information away from others, maintains the the power.

Lead by example is an oxy-mo--n at Gainwell.

With the exception of a few. The managers are ex-project managers with no real experience having done what they expect from their subordinates. And to busy throwing their weight around like peacocks thrusting out their features.

Probably because the Batch Ops manager is a lifelong check drawer

@292 Oh god, I used to be on call for the stupid nightly batch process, and years after I left that position, I was still getting calls from Spring Hill because the people who maintained that list didn't have write permission to update the spreadsheet! No one could find out who did!

@195 Phone numbers in the global directory are, for the most part, un maintained. Now, if you can fix that for me it would solve years of dissatisfaction.

@km I'm a reporter at Bloomberg Law and have been looking into activity directly related to your comment: "You might find that many of the telephone number for your Indian colleagues are google numbers or sourced out of Texas"

If anyone has information about any efforts to mask the location of people doing Medicaid work of any kind outside of the United States, please contact me. We've already published stories on other aspects of Gainwell's fraud detection and offshoring work, but am very much interested in whether any efforts are being made to mask the location of employees.

My name is John Holland, my email is jholland1@bloombergindustry.com. I'm not looking to quote anyone, and our contacts will remain completely confidential, but I am trying to learn as much as possible and separate truth from fiction.

@k4

You might find that many of the telephone number for your Indian colleagues are google numbers or sourced out of Texas for a reason. Then there are some that can't be called outside of Microsoft Teams. Shouldn't be too hard figure out why.

I can confirm that those off-shore that work on my account have had this "new email" since the first of August.

To answer the question initially posed - there is zero reference to India in their signature. Some do have their phone number, but the numbers are all run together and not as noticeable as being out of the country.

There is an old saying: 'Honesty is what you do when people are watching, Integrity is what you do when they are not'. What makes you think Gainwell isn't giving perks or favors to individuals within the state accounts to turn a blind eye. Personally you can't prove it, but it would be naive to think it is not happening.

Think about this, veterans make a very large percentage of Medicaid recipients. Many are individuals that dedicated a good portion of their life to defending the U.S.A and it's citizens. They are not happy with the possibility of individuals offshore and foreign agents having access to their personal information. And it certainly does not set well with our patriots when this country's citizens are loosing jobs to those on the other side of the globe. Let it be known that It is my understanding that many veterans have voiced their concerns to certain parties, not only in state government, but federal as well.

Does anyone know which states have agreed to Medicaid data, service out-sourcing to overseas employees or vendors?
