Are Department Leaders and Team Leaders toast?

Cascade 2 ISP decisions are being made by GPs and Directors. And, the objective is to reduce leadership layers. That means GPs and Directors will save their own skin and sacrifice DLs & TLs in cascade 2. I expect GPs and Directors to increase their span of control and get rid of DLs and TLs.

@OP Another consideration: DL’s make more $$ than TL’s. And we all know PP wants to line her pockets even more so I would bet more DL’s get cut.

Select Directors are being pulled in to the decision making as they have a closer/better view of the talent at the levels below them.

But I see that as a conflict of interest. As the objective is to is reduce leadership layers, they have a perverse incentive to recommend DLs be displaced.

I agree with OPs assessment that DLs will be disproportionately targeted.

Non-GP leaders like directors are not deciding. Only level 3 and level 4 GPs do.

@ac if so then why don’t they just let people go already. Why draw it out? I’m sorry but this is going to have a lot of impact. Many changes. Maybe not all ISP but it’s more than that. This is not a small production. This is Enterprise Reimagined.

@OP I agree, TLs are probably safest and DLs are at risk. GPs aren't going to want to spend the time doing trimester and annual reviews. They need at least one layer below them to do all of that.

Whether DLs are involved with the work or not does not matter. They need to be in the good books of GPs and Directors who will protect them.
This whole exercise reeks of nepotism.

I think Department Leaders are at most risk. Team Leaders typical are closely involved with the teams and the product. Some Department Leaders are too but not all IMO. So Department Leaders might be demoted to Team Leader if a spot is available. We really don’t know what to expect though. I am a Team Leader for transparency.

Agree. Not only that… these GPs and Directors will protect DLs and TLs who are their “friends” and sacrifice the rest.
Wait till 8/25 and you will see what I am saying.
