In the past two years, we have witnessed a significant number of layoffs within Walmart's IT department. If anyone is deserving of being laid off, it would be the EBS leadership, particularly following the arrival of Dave Glick. The initiation of SAP programs has had a considerable negative impact, especially on the payroll modernization initiative, which, after an expenditure exceeding $100 million, still shows no signs of going live for the majority of the workforce. This leadership has inexplicably halted the go-live scheduled for January 2024 and has redirected substantial funds towards the development of the Payroll Integration platform, which has proven to be unnecessary and redundant due to its timing. This decision came after the postponement of the payroll go-live, the removal of the Deloitte SI partner, and the departure of skilled personnel from the organization, all attributed to the incompetence of Dave Glick and his leadership team. Consequently, the team continues to face challenges in executing the rollouts.

Dave Glick's interests consistently center around podcasts featuring other Walmart leaders, rather than concentrating on the developments within his own organization.
The individual who has himself admitted that not written a single line of code throughout his career, and who is expected to lead the largest organization at Walmart, is destined for failure.
Dave Glick aspired to develop his own payroll system, but after realizing the complexities associated with legal, compliance, and taxation, he hesitated to proceed. Ultimately, hia onboarded team ended up creating useless iPaaS.
Walmart’s track record with IT projects is horrible. One just needs to remember the JET.com fiasco, Harvest, mainframe elimination and all the outsourcing to know that’s true. The vendors that partner with Walmart for these projects use Walmart as a cash cow, milking projects for years, never accomplishing the goal so they can keep milking money. You be wound think Walmart would get smart, but no, they never learn. 81% of tech projects at Walmart fail, or go over budget or get time lines pushed way out. It’s not the fault of project managers, it’s the failure of leadership who doesn’t have project ownership and the guts to bring in the right resources. Until Walmart completely overhauls their tech area, this will continue.
Probably another scam organization with H1B contractor kickbacks to management
