Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What Pepsico is doing with AI?

How is PepsiCo actually leveraging AI in its operations and strategy? I’ve been seeing multiple LinkedIn posts from company leaders talking about AI, but I’m curious — is this primarily marketing, or is there real substance behind it in terms of implemented solutions, measurable impact, and business transformation?

It is all a PR stunt. Even in R&D the leadership is clueless how to use AI. Imagine, they gave a PASA award on an AI tool without checking if the tool even works (newsflash: it doesn't!!!!). They are easily swayed by things that look se-y but sweep the true valuable initiatives under the rug.

@1k1 except for the lies AK spins how AI helped come up with Cheetos flavor. Man, she is either truly incompetent or uses Indians to feed her garbage she puts out as truth.
A good idea of leadership project would be to replace one of more Indians senior leadership with AI. I bet it will deliver better outcomes than zero or negative.
Siri... Give me a strategy to get rid of the failed indianization.

@OP if there was real substance they would detail it in their silly LinkedIn posts.

I'm hoping they use it to replace the Helpless Desk. It's frustrating having to call into support and not be able to understand the person you're talking to. (Example: Think how great it was when they automated the redownloading of loads.) Let the field sites make their own decisions regarding support because I would rather speak with an AI model than call India.

There's certainly a HUGE opportunity for the application of AI at PepsiCo. LLMs like ChatGPT excel at spouting convincing yet utterly meaningless bullsh-t, and studies show that executives spend as much as 80% of their day on such activities. Think of the time they'll save! They'll have so much more opportunity to run the company into the ground!

They should use AI to replace Ramon and the rest of the management clown show. AI couldn't do any worse of a job than they have . AI also works 24x7x365 and for a lot less. PEPs YTD return is negative 10% while the S&P500 is positive 16%.

Nothing. Most of it is just for pr stunting. There is a bit which is normal.in chip manufacture and control. Nothing new old stuff.
Only ai is the fake AI news which ak keepslying about. They don't even have proper analytics and we want ai.
Just a disguise. Rumour has it there is a black ops units AK stood up and reports to her somewhere in India. Again, too much of cloak and dagger. Nothing of value.
Gaston left and his tenure was marred with no funding.
No vision no action no resources.

For the press a lot. In reality, as many companies, there is lack of data maturity and other stuff, so less things are truly adopted. You fake it until you make it, the s & t lemma.

It will be used for forecasting products, will help ordering in the stores so we don’t need a sales rep, and advertising also routing delivery’s is my guess
