This was a Model T moment? Are you sure now? Will their be an exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in 100 years discussing the history of this historical day?

Cost of this "modular" dream will get out of hand. Electrical alone will not work (cost wise) if they try what I think they may try. They dumped FMV4 but they think they can make this fly. Everything looks good in clay, apply requirements and physical testing, then the money starts to go exponentially out of control. My guess is if they actually produce a vehicle, it will retail for a base of about 45k. Then the roads will beat the sh-t our of their modular joints and they will literally fall to pieces.

@ax the people who still work at Apple are what make it one of the top valued companies in the world. The people who USED to work there, not top hires.
@a2 invisible minority moment
@ag That is not the Apple way. The culture is that everything they touch turns to gold. That overblown ego and head size is common amongst the Apple cobblers who think they reinvented the wheel.

So this new mid size truck is electric? How many miles does it get on a charge like 50? Isn’t this just a recycled electric ranger from the 90s? This is garbage. No one is gonna buy it.
@OP."Will their be an exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in 100 years discussing the history of this historical day?"
Hmmm, IDK if there will be a Henry Ford Museum in 100 years from now, but yes, today will be a day remembered in the future, as another day when the clueless C-suite doomed the Ford Motor Company. FMC, like Sears and Kodak, will be taught in Business Schools as what not to do.
This will never get to market because DF is heading it. He has zero success track record at any company he's been at. All he knows how to do is create a toxic work environment
"Damn it Jim!"
I wonder if LAP realizes they only will need a fraction of the current workforce "IF" this is successful....
All I heard is Ford will be the first US manufacturer to implement these innovative manufacturing techniques.
Did they ignore Tesla because Elon is African American?
