Why is a 3rd party company observing process on all shifts in a smaller walmart

It’s part of process improvement. At any given time there’s effectively 10-20 pilot projects being tested. Remember the robot floor cleaners? It’s the same kind of thing. Remember when self check started? And the gates? Have you heard of stores testing the dynamic shelf tags? Notice how mobile checkout by an associate holding a handheld has faded away?
Evaluating the wages operating model, how long it takes to do each job on average. This is how they decide how many hours stores earn based on the workload.
Been here 25 years. Seems to happen in transportation and warehouse DC. Fresh eyes bring new ideas.
