It’s part of process improvement. At any given time there’s effectively 10-20 pilot projects being tested. Remember the robot floor cleaners? It’s the same kind of thing. Remember when self check started? And the gates? Have you heard of stores testing the dynamic shelf tags? Notice how mobile checkout by an associate holding a handheld has faded away?
