Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

When you quit, be aware of your timing and pay period

For you US employees i unfortunately just discovered another way for the company to sc--w people over...
I got my last paycheck recently and it seemed low. Turns out I quit during the only 12 work day pay period in the year, so each day I worked was valued less. They don't divide all the work days equally across the year, which means i got sc--wed out of over $1000 pay. (So in my case: i worked 148 work days this year x what should be my daily pay > $1k than what i received). I don't even know how that's legal.

It's probably not, but good luck finding a lawyer willing to take your case for such a small sum. Corporations factor that kind of thing in when doing employees dirty.
