Well, that’s inconvenient.

Ever heard the phrase “Caesar’s wife should be above suspicion”

Every time a weasel is caught doing something legal but very shady, the fallback phrase is “we follow the highest standards of ethics”. Yeah right.

Everytime Trump does anything that the elites don’t like, the fallback phrase is “democracy is under threat “. Yeah right.

I really hope Trump doesn’t TACO out of this one.

LBT need to be Laser focused on his humble resignation letter today.

This isn’t about defending yourself LBT. This is about getting the fu-k out of the way. Your wealth and business dealings are stinking up the place at a time when Intel is relying on U.S. government support. You say you “love” Intel. Really? Your actions are showing otherwise.

I don't believe OP believes in TACO.

@aw Intel finally got a strong leader in LBT who started to cut a bloated organization. You have 109K employees making chips from their kitchen table. The number needs to shrink to 60K and start to make chips in the factory.

Imagine Intel. In its current form. Protecting IP, with a known CCP sympathizer at the helm. Fact is stranger than fiction

@ab Sometimes you’ve got to strike while the iron is hot. Intel has been languishing for years now due to weak leadership and lack of accountability and has arrived to deaths doorstep. There’s plenty of evidence IP has been surreptitiously imminating from behind its firewall or travels to China on a memory stick next time your internal trolls visit mom and dad in Beijing. Somebody needs to lead. I voted for this

There is no other solution. Why is this so hard to understand?

OK, but with all the shuffling ups and downs, is this the final solution?

Much respect to LBT for the reply, strength for strength. There's no such thing as bad publicity; this will help in the long run.

@af This is not about political affiliation, it’s about jurisprudence and the law, which has been established and safeguarded for over two centuries by both Democrats and Republicans alike

@ae That’s the legal basis for the company, not for its former CEO, until it’s proven that the former CEO was personally involved.

There’s no legal foundation behind that statement, only a logical fallacy: if A is guilty, and B was the head of A, then B is also guilty.

In law guilt is established individually, not inferred simply from someone’s position

@ab You are the one claiming defamation because POTUS says the CEO of a company that was found guilty of selling restricted technology to China cannot lead Intel. You will have to file a defamation suit and tell it to a judge.

@a9 That’s exactly the point! In a democracy, you do need to tell it to a judge, and only a judge can determine individual guilt based on solid evidence. Skipping that step is precisely what undermines the rule of law

I’m not a fan of Lip-Bu Tan, but what scares me is a country where something this unprecedented can happen, it means democracy is truly at risk

@a6 Hi. The Cadence case involves the company itself pleading guilty, it’s not any individual executive, and no charges have been filed against LBT. Corporate liability does not automatically transfer to former leaders without compelling evidence of their personal involvement. Making accusations without such proof is legally unfounded and can constitute defamation, in a democratic country

Intel has been playing these shell games with export restrictions themselves for a long time. If I had to guess it is how the CIA gets it's money to fund Ha--s. Hence the reason we are seeing it all come to a head on the eve of the Palestinian genocide.

@a5 "Cadence Design Systems Agrees to Plead Guilty and Pay Over $140 Million for Unlawfully Exporting Semiconductor Design Tools to a Restricted PRC Military University"

How much more evidence do you need?

We like the madness of dictators as long as it's not our turn…What is happening in America is against every form of democracy. Whether you like LBT or not, until there is evidence it is pure defamation.
