I’ve been doing the job of a team lead for months, including running the floor, keeping things together, and solving problems, and all without the title or raise.
Now they want me to officially take the role but say I have to prove myself for another six months, unpaid. That’s after already proving myself for four.
I thought I had a future here, but it’s clear I’m just another warm body to them. I’m done giving more than I’m valued for.
Don’t even bother team leads are going away probably why they’re stalling
@OP - Actually, that’s against Walmart’s own policy. Maybe your store doesn’t care, but, they can’t put you in a role with that title without the uplift. You can challenge them on it, but if you do, they will sc--w you over. You can contact home office HR, you can open door, or you can just tell them forget it. Unless you want to play their game, you might be better off to start looking elsewhere. Unless you keep quiet, there’s no way this will end up in your favor.
Walmart doesn’t have ANY policies that allow promotion without commensurate compensation. I am betting it wasn’t your local personnel person that said that to you. They know better.
