@hs not just Apple.
TSMC supplies the entire industry and everything would cost more. Even Intel uses TSMC.

@g8 the people that buy iPhones will ask why their phones now cost $2000.

Trump will force Apple to maintain the current price tag otherwise he will ask Tim C to resign. This is the new America.

100% tariff on TSMC would ki-l the entire tech industry rendering republicans unelectable.

No-one in the tech industry votes red. Why should they care?

Nothing to see here. TSMC, Samsung, Micron, Intel, TXN, GF etc all exempt because they manufacture in the US.

So 0% Tariffs for Intel. Trump said if the company is investing in USA tariffs not applicable, so Ohio will be built one meter a day.

It’s a twist in the tariff drama that intel could capitalize on. Unfortunately it isn’t ready, just another bo-bo to add into the long line of bo-bos…

Intel shorts are sure having a rough couple of days, clinging to the Tom Cotton self aggrandizement while the Semi Tariffs follow the rumors of a TSMC investment of a spun off IFS.

Just look at the hysteria in the recent posts, to see the shorts panicking over even a small little bump in the stock.

Not that posting lies on this site has any effect on the stock, but you know they are elsewhere, spewing the same nonsense.

That also is not having any effect.

Sad, isn't it?

Intel will still miss the boat on tariffs like they missed on mobile and AI and everything else. 5 year from now CEO will say “we can’t catch up to other companies on tariffs”

I don't believe this many people working at Intel don't know that most of our chips are manufactured in other countries.

Before you start buying Intel stock have a look at the list of where Intel chips are manufactured. Not a lot of Merika on the list:

Assembly and test sites:
AFO, Aloha, Oregon, United States
Chandler, Arizona, United States
CD1, Chengdu, Sichuan, China
CD6, Chengdu, Sichuan, China
KMDSDP, Kulim, Malaysia
KMO, Kulim, Malaysia
KM5, Kulim, Malaysia
PG8, Penang, Malaysia
VNAT, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Jerusalem, Israel
CRAT, Heredia, Belén, Costa Rica (1997–2014; 2020 – present)[38][39]
Makati, Philippines – MN1-MN5 also known as A2/T11 (1974–2009)
Cavite, Philippines – CV1-CV4 (1997–2009)
Shanghai, China (former Assembly / Test Manufacturing)
Las Piedras Puerto Rico 1991-2001 (assemble Pentium CPU/Motherboards)
Wroclaw/Walbrzych, Poland - planned 2027 (former Assembly / Test Manufacturing)

This is not a celebration. Can’t you read the fu-k’n writing on the Intel chips or the box they come in? “Made in Malaysia“.

I wouldn’t go out and buy the beers yet. Intel chips are currently manufactured and shipped from TSMC. Not the one in Arizona….the one outside the U.S. 😞

This means nothing. TSMC is not part of that deal. And now I bet LBT and DZ will make announcements that their leadership saved Intel for the time being

"So 100% tariff on all chips and semiconductors coming into the United States. But if you've made a commitment to build (in the U.S.), or if you're in the process of building (in the U.S.), as many are, there is no tariff," Trump said.

So really just SMIC and other small time players.
TSMC is heavily into Arizona.
Samsung in Texas.

Why is the stock only up 1% after hours?
Why is TSMC up as well?

Trump Always Chickens Out.
If he is saying 100% today I think there will be at least 20% tariff.
