I’m hearing lots of rumors and speculation. Director hasn’t told me anything other than budgets are tight. Should I be nervous? Ugghhhh

How in the world would you know the notification/out the door dates as a customer?
This time is real. As a customer my Cisco CX and Sales folks are so very anxious and expecting the worst similar to what we have seen LRs with other large enterprises with AI helping do many tasks.
Notifications on Aug 15: out the door exit on October 15. Laptops closely being monitored for those possibly impacted. Can’t turn the clock now.
@ds This is highly dependent on the BU. Our directors have known who is on the list (for at least their teams) for weeks.
@ax This is also highly dependent on the BU. I've been a manager in two different BUs for eight years, and in all those LRs, I've never had someone reporting to me - directly or indirectly - who was let go without my input.
Senior director here, saw a lot.
Director here. I did not get anything?
What if the director is on the list? Do they still get one?
@dw Yes.
Were directors notified today?
Directors started getting notified of who is impacted on their team today. Announcement is coming on August 14. In our case the Director didn't have any input. Was just notified. Best we can tell, VP made their decisions in a vacuum.
the time to be "nervous" was when you accepted employment with Cisco
if you aren't LRd now, you will be LRd in the future
basically everyone reading this has some LR date in the future given that no one wants to voluntarily leave in such a poor hiring environment
@an the Directors don’t care who. They go by predefined cost cutting measures, grades and some other factors defined by HR such as balance age groups etc
Managers generally do not submit names. They are selected by Director or above. The names have also already been submitted for the upcoming LR.
OP here. Could there be a chance my team will get cut? My director didn’t ask me to choose anyone. How would they possibly know who to keep
You'll know when the time comes. Listen to the earnings call on Aug. 13; they're usually announced then.
If you haven’t heard you are on the list. Gooooood luckkkkkk!
@OP Historically middle management is rarely touched in LRs. But I wish that would change. So many layers should be cut.
