There’s no real creditable chat on this site about layoffs. No field gossip about layoffs. Don’t think there’s any layoffs coming in the immediate future so I think everyone can relax and take a breath for a while. There will come a day but not today.

@1ph could you give a bit more detail? Equipment as in PES? What is OOS?
It’s heartbreaking to see what PepsiCo has become. The sense of trust is fading, and job insecurity has turned friends into rivals. People are forming alliances along familiar lines, and it feels like an internal struggle is quietly unfolding. I’m ready to take a package and leave this toxic environment. Sadly, Dave doesn’t see what’s really happening in his organization.
@1ph so sorry for everyone that needs the job. It’s heartbreaking to see what this company has become. Hate to ask at this time, but what is OSS?
@1pb Equipment & OSS. I wonder who is next?
@1nj sorry to hear. HQ I assume?
Well, today was the day! Now, we get to take the rest of the week off to reflect. Then, we can countdown the days until my final goodbye, just before Christmas. I love this place.
No chatter from Pep field mgrs. crickets! If anyone knows they’re not talking
@1c9 I asked but was told no. Meanwhile I get worked to an early grave. I want out of this Indian infested rat hole.
@1c9 they’ll be going after pension managers. They’ve got enough to fill the quota. Not to say a department, facility, or work group might be targeted for closure as well.
If they extend VRP irrespective of age, like a buy out plan, there would be many takers eager to get out
@14p bring it on
@ag Is your VRP comment based on something you know, or speculation?
@qw the wait is just too late long. That ties with complete move of this company to entirely to India.
Indian hijacking is fait accompli.
@qw 4 yr plan started in 2019 and got sidelined by COVID. Plans still there but the timeline has changed. Needing / wanting to get out of the pension business altogether and willing to cut overall revenue to do so. The train is coming….it’s just a matter of when
Read the stockholders reports they are booking hundreds of millions of dollars in people costs under "restructuring". That's our severances.
They will come within the next 4 years, if we're lucky, if not, you have a first row to the implosion of this sh-tshow.
4th Quarter will see layoffs so relax if you choose.
@ag and you know this to be fact or more speculation?
@c7 They need to keep those to train the new offshore people. A reoccurring nightmare.
Just ask the thousands that have been laid off if they felt calm and relaxed knowing they'd be next to go.
Define “immediate future” - without even knowing your answer, I’ll still take your bet…
Frito RSR will be let go in the Fall. Going from a 50 hour to 45 hour week. Even though very few actually work 50 hours in my area. I just survived the latest announcement of HR
payroll admins being let go. We were told they were keeping 22 of us, but now only 16 are being kept. Those being let go need to work until mid September. I am sure they will get rid of me and the rest they have kept by sometime next year. I am happy I get to stay while they continue to contribute to my pension for the remainder of the year. Sticking this out until I get that severance package. I will gladly let them pay me with full benefits for 42 weeks.
@OP ignorance is bliss. When you don’t see it is when you get it. Once you’re laid off, you’ll disappear from the board.
Stock and Share are still down vs PY. We are not performing as good as the competition sad to say. Customers are still complaining that we can’t order correctly. Also costs are still way too high this is somewhat caused by cutting expenses every year so when you do spend it sticks out. Management is outnumbered and doing a lot of frontlines work rather than managing their employees to order and sell. All those issues don’t add up to job security. Always live below your means just in case as the economy is crazy right now.
Look for org announcements next month. VRP will be offered for one more round.
@a3 Just closed the Rancho Cucamonga Frito-Lay plant too, lots of layoffs there.
Bro. They just shut down a plant in Detroit and sent CSC jobs to India. Several functions have been outsourced.
