Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What are the chances that only middle management gets hit in the next round?

We rarely see the top-heavy layers actually trimmed, while the rest of us, who actually work and create value, keep getting cut loose without a second thought.

@gp In the Past, Bangalore is where our Products / Product Support Go To Die a Slow Death into Obscurity. AI is everything Now and Cisco will take that AI innovation from where ever they can get it &/or acquire it now

Next round of layoffs, and the round after that, and the round after that will reflect the trend that is never really discussed internally (at least not where I hear): Cisco rank and file is moving to Bangalore.

Cisco management has been pretty quiet but a lot has moved over already. Go into Workday and click around the org chart.

At this point I just assume there is some confidential spreadsheet floating around the ELT that details migration dates for various segments of the org.

Middle management is just for Cisco top management rewards their family members and friends. It is always ICs to pay the price for the mismanagement.

Search Youtube for a video called "Steve Jobs - The Lost Interview". Watch it and compare his genius to the total muppets who are destroying Cisco and you will see a very strong parallel. Jobs warned about these kind of clueless clowns and their nauseating hubris 30 years ago.

Middle management's function is primarily to execute layoffs, micromanage the calendar and most importantly to provide BS "win metrics" to their immediate supervisor.

the BS is embellished and sent up the entire management chain with the implicit goal of self preservation.

removing the middle management layer from the equation would require the ELT to actually work with ICs.

not gonna happen

@cv it’s not a voting. It’s a business and middle layer is too fat. Cut it before the sickness spreads and ki-ls the company.

I hope chances are 100%. Middle management are su-king the blood out of Cisco ICs.

That is on behalf of upper management. So, you want your blood to get su-ked out from upper management? Choose your poison.
