Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

The uncertainty is ki-ling me

Lately I can’t shake the feeling that everything could fall apart with one email. Does anyone actually feel secure anymore or are we all just pretending?

@OP I am so sorry. So many of my friends (ie coworkers) feel the same. I felt that way too: I knew the VSP was coming 05/24, but I dreaded getting that email. It was still a slap in the face knowing my 30 years of hard work and dedication meant NOTHING to this firm and they want me to go away. Fine. So I accepted the VSP. Then another 2 months of waiting to hear my end date. Pure torture. My whole summer was ruined. So I completely understand you feeling that way, because I did too. Now? I am relieved I am leaving. Each announcement keeps getting worse. I feel sorry for those with an ISP looming. Stay strong!

@bq I’m seeing this same implication across multiple threads: Chubak is the heir apparent. Where does this come from? What happened to KJ being groomed?

@OP, the reality is; it won't fall apart in one email. It will fall apart over the next 2 yrs. Chewbaki will be at the helm......

@b8, it's called "termination Tuesday."

Folks at WF are used to it.

@b8 That's the most toxic Chubakesque answer. It could be much better too. We could work at an organization where senior leaders have true leadership skills are have a history of being successful. But here we are with this circus of "leadership".

Could be worse. We could be at Wells Fargo. Every Tuesday after payday (every 2 weeks) they quietly lay off people. No one knows who until you get a meeting invite Monday night & are let go Tuesday. Been that way going on 3 years since return from covid.
