There will be a meaningful round of layoffs.
Focus will be on declining or stagnating business areas and legacy skillset.

Lay offs are not performance based . Manager gets to decide who gets the axe and favor yes men. Get out of the sinking ship while you still can .
@at Good luck when AI takes your job youngblood. FAFO.
All Software Engineers are replaced with Bridge IT, effective immediately. -CR
My large remaining group appears to be at risk.
That is a good thing, isn't it?
I had to select 3 top performers and share that list with leadership a month ago.

100m is going to be around (800) FTE, eg a normal stealth LR (if that's all that this is)
What makes you say it is "confirmed"?
Layoffs Confirmed
Finally it's not a rumor anymore but confirmed. Now we can plan accordingly!
Rumor is most SJ (all BU) manufacturing test and operations go to Bangalore this round. Remaining people at SJ will become red badges and any current red badges will take a 40% pay cut. All test floors to be scrapped, Workplace Resources will be scuttled and any remaining personnel will be on standby to be in The Cisco Beatings audiences where they'll be reading canned softball questions on DEI and Transgender use of laptops.
Managers start drawing up lists 4 weeks or more before they layoff. So if a manager can >tell you he submitted names and when, you can estimate the layoff date.
Given the massive layers of management in CISCO, I serious doubt that line managers know what is going on until the "notification preparation meetings" come out - usually few days before. If I have to guess, only Sr Dir (and some Dir) above know about right now.
It's hard to imagine LRs will take place before GSX since everyone in Sales has already registered for it, which takes place the week of Aug. 25.
I do not have confidence in someone just stating "layoffs confirmed."
However, Cisco almost always does layoffs in fiscal Q1.

Layoffs are announced before hand so they will happen after the end of year report in August. They can happen soon after if the list started a month before but if not, it takes 4-plus weeks once the process starts.
Focus will be on [..] legacy skillset.
This is the layoff we here on this board waited for. This layoff will turn Cisco into a modern company.
Looking forward ...
Well stateď. It will futheŕ continúe through Pune and Bangalore taking away need for RTO dramãs in US of A with apprőachiŋg redundąncy there mucĥ lateř. Simpľy as thïŝ
This round is all middle layer & few drowning NME, that’s now redundant with AI.

The board said 100 mil was set aside for this previously. It’s happening, the question is how deep.
