When merger is completed, Carmen will be a thing of the past. UP will only keep a few shops open. TCI (traveling car inspector) jobs will be posted all over the system. They are Right of Selection jobs. Seniority won’t matter. 1 TCI to cover hundreds of miles of territory. I suggest if you see a TCI job posted to apply for it. It’s a good sign they will be closing your shop down.

Whoever posted this needs to get themselves into the DARS program immediately. There is help, but you have to make the first step!
UP Carman here. TCI jobs are terrible. If u have a few years left and could live with it than do it. On call 24/7 6 days a week with 1 guaranteed rest day. No home life or family life. Look into them before you apply
