I can confirm there have been some very targeted individual layoffs. Literally onesy twosy moves. Probably more budget planning rather than corporate mandates.
No. Traditionally if there's a layoff of much size it is first announced to the stockholders and analysts during the earnings call / press release. Under John Chambers it would be announced that the layoff would happen in two months. Under Chuck Robbins it has usually been within a few days of announcement, though not always. There have been a few where they hadn't planned it out yet and needed a month or more to restructure.
Based on past year ends there's a lot less rumors of LR this time. But that's no guarantee. You can't depend on this site. It predicts maybe 4 times as many LRs than actually happen.
