Looks like there is a 2 day offsite for all PEs and Directors. While I am not jealous I am not part of that BS exercise, I want to know what these ppl will achieve wasting so much of Cisco money. While poor engineers are being dragged to work more and more and when we ask for rewards, we are either told that DC is being mistreated by upper management or some other BS. who is to blame for this wasteful spend ? Some 20+ ppl called from India and a 100 people locally, wasting 2 days in a hotel and are supposed to come up with some plan. This is the biggest BS I saw in recent times. Compensate hard working engineers, treat them with respect, recognize and appreciate their contributions, make them feel valued and the group will do good automatically. Even if I become eligible for this kind of event in future, I am going to stay away from this BS.

Is this the people that are being sold/divested with the UCS business?
sales teams spending might be required to make a deal or to glean next customer., But Engineering Directors/PEs spending without creating any new products for Cisco is just pure waste of shareholders money.
If you think they're wasting $$$ in Eng'g, you'd be shocked at what Sales spends on such off-sites, happy hours, team dinners, parties.
They’ll enjoy it because DC is nice this time of year. The national memorial and the Lincoln memorial are nice.
I hope it commences with gigantic dumps.
Its a matrimony event for higher class Indians and Indian IIT folks. Soon you will see those 20+ ppl visiting from India show up as Directors/PE in San Jose on L1 visa.
