AT&T is going to find out how bad the plant is in Denver. The elite cable maintenance has frogged the cable so bad it takes us awhile to find the right ports. They are lucky they are only going from the FSAI out. The other side of the FSAI is even worse. They would be smart not to invest in any of Lumens management. Good luck

At that point it’ll all be offshore and a couple contractors on speed dial to f up….i mean work on fiber on an as needed basis.
@va “You and your job will be wielded in short time for your efforts!“
thanks for the heads up captain obvious!
@jw
Residential and Small business is NOT the service Lumen wants. Just need to keep the patchwork going to uphold their AI connectivity, Enterprise and Public sector schema going. You and your job will be wielded in short time for your efforts!
I’ve frogged into different copper cables to bypass bad sections the company won’t replace. He-l, frogged to go around a block and back fed it just to bypass a buried section the company won’t even pay to dig up. But I’ve never heard or seen a fiber feed on the f2 side jumped to a different count. Maybe the installers used the wrong port or the count was 12 off etc. but frogged?
Half assing a fiber splice still isnt frogging. It’s still garbage but not the same thing.
Who cares, it will be AT&T issue shortly. We Denver techs. Hope that they are going to tech 712 or BB. what a pain
@j4 nope , as a “primarily out state copper”. tech who can do fiber.. I have gone into the big metro and have had to find and dig up spots that have those 3m emergency fiber locks on them, the buried spot I found was wrapped in TBT 20 and bark..The actual damage was still another 2500 ft away .. but the glass has definitely been dumped back at the next hand hole a mile down the road in order to buy pass the damage .. have also found same fiber locks where someone used aerial Drop as a string by in squirrel chew aerial in a back yard full of trees ..
Most any short cut that can be done to copper can be applied to glass, it’s really all about continuity,
So long as Management keeps screaming at techs and making threats about achieving 100% order completions daily, people are going to do what ever is necessary to comply.. it was the same thing with DSL and that’s why we got out pants sued off and now have to do a conformance test on each order!
it's not just the plant, they make the people old and tired. People are not staying at Lumen because it is a career...it is a paycheck. Nobody with 2 cents thinks Lumen will help you advance in your career. I was there only two years and a recruiter said to not include Lumen on resume...ouch.
You're confused between the copper and fiber plants.
@OP Agreed… Around here, Half of the fiber maintenance crew is constantly bad mouthing the other half of the fiber maintenance crew and the cable maintenance supervisor is constantly crying and bad mouthing all of them, to us copper maintenance folks!
Counts are consistently wrong, because of color blind contractors or because maintenance is consistently stealing glass rather then chasing down the trouble, half the splices are full of water. when a big truck rolls by, or when a locater wrestles the case around to do their job, not to mention half the handholds have lids that are falling in!
This is my last summer here, Best of luck to everyone!!
Yea cause putting light on it to find it takes so much time.
@OP
Frogging fiber? You mean flipping the count on a maintenance splice?
