This administration is working for rich people and corporations.

No matter what they say, they'll never do anything that isn't in the interests of the corporations.

And Russia.

The administration needs to start coming down much harder on these corporations. They will get rid of every single American worker and replace with an H1 if they can. I'd like to see a massive tax added to every H1 hired.

The specialty for all is "high ability to work cheap"

I have never seen a H1B fired . Managers are the culprit . Why managers are given h1b visa ? What is the speciality in that occupation.

@1rk I can’t speak for the GM experience, haven’t worked with too many, but at the supplier level I’ve met quite a few Indians that lied about their experience/qualifications a ton to get the job, only to be found out and fired pretty quickly. Also my university’s grad school is dominated by them, cheaters, cheaters everywhere. They’re not even good at hiding it either, cheating so bad they disrespect the craft.

@1ra
Can any of the IT folks give an honest assessment?
Are the H1 folks any good in a general sense?
Average? Better?
What about creativity? Work ethic?

We then in engineering. They are average. Not smarter, more creative, or better work ethic. Just average. There are plenty of qualified people trying to get these jobs. To say H1-Bs are needed is pure BS.

Why don’t they ban new h1b for few years and see the impact

@16y

Seems strange for a temporary visa, doesn't it?

When they do go, it's to another position. If their skills are so specialized and advanced that they meed to be imported from half way around the world, how do they bounce around to random roles at the company?

I see them come in but I never see them go

@fc lol there are some recruiters that get a commission if the hire stays at the company within a certain window, so I know a company that the recruiter keeps hiring in Indians to make the 60 day window just to get fired after finding out they lied about their engineering skills. Crazy world out there.

I’m on an h1b (non Indian- 1st world country). The vast majority of h1b is coming from India and they are gaming the system. They are hiring completely incompetent people. Those people are paying the managers who sponsor them in cash

Donald Trump has expressed support for the H-1B visa program, stating that he believes it is important for attracting skilled workers essential for U.S. competitiveness. However, his administration previously implemented stricter regulations that increased scrutiny and denial rates for H-1B applications. This explains Vance's stance on it.

I believe their embrace of it was influenced by Musk, who is no longer a team member.
As smart as Musk is, he had a blind spot and got played. But that's a side issue.
The real issue is that corporations are making extreme cuts while crying poor, only to hire H1-Bs. Americans need to start boycotting these companies.

They're just getting rid of American workers in America.

Nothing to see here.

It makes no sense for companies that are laying off to have ANY h1bs at all.

You can't claim there's a labor shortage while you're getting rid of your labor.
