Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Corp HR is a Walking Contradiction

HR should be the next group outsourced. They are a “do as I say not as I do” organization. Can anyone give me one single useful function they perform for us anymore??

@eq Yes I have also heard that numerous times. One of my team mate was on a business trip with them and noticed it. Very obvious. They were recently spotted together at a conference.

@m9 speak up has always been a broken process. It’s more of a crybaby line vs legit calls. They are so behind on those calls I got one that was three months old already. Look to get many more as we cut labor

HR is ultimately an advocate for the company, their friends, and themselves — unfortunately, that often means they cannot always be trusted to prioritize employees’ well-being. I genuinely believe that many people enter the HR profession with the intention of helping others, but over time, they can become entangled in unethical practices. As their careers progress, they may find themselves too deep to speak out without risking their livlihood. Quitting isn’t always a realistic option when bills need to be paid and making a career change can be a challenge especially if you're older. I wish More HR professionals felt empowered enough to anonymously report unethical behavior when they see it and to oust the things they see coming before it hits the workers. There is enough outlets available to post this information either before, during, or after it happens. Big Corp cant fire every HR person or everyone that is/was aware of the unethical behavior, favoritism, layoffs etc Speak UP

Pepsico HR is entirely broken, just like their Speak Up process. You cannot and should not trust them, lack of integrity and broken processes, not following through what they preach to others is a norm not exception!

I think HR does a good job over all. The person that said theirs gossips that’s a good thing you get the layoff news ahead of schedule. Look for them to combine HR with frito and see what they can save

@eq yes it’s true. I know a HR person who talks and gossips . She should not be in HR as she gives confidential info to others and she is a senior director.

There's shady stuff like that in the corporate world. People will do anything to get ahead. Hence, HR will either turn a blind eye or overlook the issue. It's been doing that for years.

I'll tell you what. If you post something about PepsiCo HR, they come out of the woods to defend themselves with nothing supportive. Love some of their posts here.

Good timing. I ran into one of our coworkers and she was wondering why HR looked the other way when Seth Cohen and the finance lady were messing around!! Literally Every trip !! Go figure.

@cb Are you ok? Checking on your mental health here.

When you get a call to be laid off, are they on the call? When you report harassment, who do you report to? When you transfer positions, who administers that? Based on your response they do nothing.

They're not supposed to perform any function for you. They're not resources FOR humans. Their job is to manage resources. Resources that happen to be human. The humans are resources for the company. Wake up.

First off you are dealing with the head of HR for your area who due to constant turnover was a college intern 2 years ago. Secondly due to lack of experience or indecision they stop all forward progress and usually contradict themselves when on multiple calls or email chains that is of course if they respond at all? And lastly they over complicate because we have to treat people special and give them their 10th chance because work performance means nothing when you check the right boxes!!
