what's up with this insane idea about spending $10 to save $1. Github actions??!! How about we spend $1 to save $2 or don't waste our money on it. How about we figure out what these ridiculous savings actually cost us before we spend $10 to save $1.Github actions? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

We are hemorrhaging money. Hundreds of people in the company are being paid to do pretend work that at best is useless but often makes costs worse. We are blowing money on new garbage that's inferior to our existing stuff while starving our existing stuff of resources so it starts decaying. Make our customers happy with the good products we already have don't try to scam them with new garbage products that don't work as well as what we already have. What's next? Are we going to rename the company to "s-AI-bre" so we can pretend it's got AI somewhere inside? Stop the crazy train.

2-3% in the hay day pre COVID. As a manager I had to really fight for people 20% under market.

@1mk based on stock performance the ELT doesn’t deserve a raise or any stock options, not the employees!

Based on stock performances no one deserves a merit raise!

Expect the new ownership to be firm on compensation. Your options are likely to accept the 2% or explore other opportunities.

Anything less than 10% and there should be riots in the Bangalore office.

There will be huge pay raises this year. Why would they lay people off in last weeks to avoid having money ready for this process?

@dw
Yes - it is better to change a job if you target compensation increase. This works this way in most companies. :)
Althought during promotion or transfer in Sabre you can earn up to 15%.
(but 10 is more likely nowadays).
Also - it is possible to have more than 3% in normal cycle, but as the budget is set upfront - it means someone will have less or even no merit this year.
In addition - higher raises for higher roles - consume more of the budget for the rest of the flock

Yep, it's usually 2-3%.

Merit process was postponed till September this year. Effective October.
The increase varies (if any) - all depends on years budget for raises and managers ability to fight for you in the upper chain.
This gets especially hard since Principal level.
Some programs (like Mosaic) - are hyped and in deep 'sheet' so it is easier to get a higher one there (as they would suffer a lot by losing people).
Last two years were very low in absurd ways...

Word on the street is that raises have been postponed until later this year or possibly early 2026
