TC/GF will be looking into outsourcing all the work from home and non-fab essential employees to Singapore - ESPECIALLY NIGHT SHIFT.

Covid shows that PT's who look at data can work remote, these jobs can be easily cut and outsourced You can pay a foreign engineer for the price of an American process technician. If you can work remote you can be cut/outsourced.

Singapore will be having one of the largest cut, likely outsource to Malaysia and recruiting from Vietnam.
So will US engineers support Singapore fabs on their nights? pts should be in the fab to protect their jobs as there will be more layoffs and those will involve outsourcing. Harder to lay them off if they show they are needed in the fab
Singapore has been recruiting module engineers to support Fab8 night shift.
Night shift will have engineering support from Singapore on their day shift. This will help quality of life of the engineering team.
And help drive some actual support to keep process and tools running. Considering the engineering teams tend to have the higher attrition these days anything to help reduce that is considered useful. How many times do your Pts and Mts call the PE or the EE team and not get an answer?
Actually out sourcing this to other sites to look at night shift is a good move. Do you want to have night calls everyday?
Managers already had to submit a list of expendable people. Going up in the fab now won't save anybody. Trying to sham now will only humiliate you further.
Isn’t signapore having layoffs? Why would they outsource to there over Malaysia or Bulgaria?
