Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Layoff Messaging Failure

I have to say, the vague messaging around this round of layoffs is a real failure. Instead of giving your associates the facts, we're forced to attempt to make sense of what's happening in this very public forum. I don't think our investors would appreciate the lack of confidence being displayed here with respect to our leadership.

Because of the uncertain scope of our cost reducing actions, many of our associates are now forced to look for other employment options, whether they've been laid off or not. The best of us are still able to find work in tough times and will act appropriately. What does this leave you with?

@a6 I was shocked they were told to go to the other tower on Wednesday instead of just work from home. The desk booking system is a joke. When I go in the office I see tons of unused desks, and this system shows them as booked. How productive will people be trying to get a desk that late in the AM? Well apparently the group responsible for sending those texts were let go. The entire team. So there will probably be NO warnings in the future when their Billion Dollar Building craps the bed. As for how these layoffs are being communicated, I am shocked that our of all of these highly paid business professionals and their assistants, no one can write an honest readable email? Wes Moore will likely hire that person for his Press Secretary. Word Salad mumbo jumbo.

They can’t even send out clear and timely communications regarding a power outage, or fuel spill blocking all ways into the building. 8-9 am is a little late for those types of communications. I guess that person is a 5 day wfh. Or maybe remotely works from Florida.

Have been through a few of these. Yes, this one seems quite vague, so either they are not done yet or they just want to leave that door open.
