Most (not all) managers at Intel are adding little of value compared to how much they are getting paid. Most just ask their subordinates what is the status of this or that or when are you completing this or that, and then condense and present it to their manager. No mentoring, helping with career growth, removing roadblocks or anything like that. Yet they would rather fire engineers than these useless managers.
