Was it me or was today's call so difficult to watch. A lot of people asked questions but they didn't seem to really be what was on peoples' minds. The closest was the opacity of people in the perimeter. You would think everyone would know by now unless it presents a pattern of employees that might present a legal issue. Also the responses and eye contact with the camera became sporadic the harder the question.

Here’s a question:
Are the perimeter employees in your region mostly individual contributors, supervisors, managers, or directors? Or is it a combination of all of the above
OP makes little or no sense - grammar, sentence structure, eye contact with an inanimate object. Wow we're in bad shape.
@1n2 you do realize this is every corporation right? If anything crown has a better moral compass then most
@166 are you under the impression people want to stay? Most people I know are begging to be slated as perimeter.
@166 first day at corrupt castle?
@166 I have been saying this for months! Everyone tells me I’m crazy and I said just wait and see!
Some of the craziest moves I’ve seen in this whole “permitter” process. Final notifications are still rolling out, and what’s happening doesn’t make sense. People who worked exclusively in Small Cell or Fiber who you’d think would be impacted aren’t and some were suddenly relabeled as Tower related just before the cut, seemingly to protect them. Meanwhile, others who were truly dedicated to Tower work were let go.
It’s hard to see any logic here. Say what you want, but in many cases, this feels less like a structured business decision and more like a tool to reward favorites or push out people they didn’t want to work with for whatever reason and now those on the list have to stay to get their payout while they endure more waiting to see if the new company keeps or cuts them. No it’s jot stressful it’s only our livelihood and income after we endured the strategic review and shuffling of leaders.
@hz remote employee here - I knew nothing about a call!
@hk Senior leadership has been going around to offices to answer questions about the divestiture and future of towers. The call being referred to was for remote employees.
What call did they host?
@gy I am going to say shame on both of you, one for instigating with the first reply and the name calling and the OP for the childish retaliation. As far as the voting goes, it's not rocket science to know that you can just clear your history and continue voting. There is no login for this site so once you clear your cookie, you can just keep voting.
The guy who says the site should be about expressing opinions and not counting votes is having a Meltdown because he's down 14. Less than a Qtr of a percent of people who have viewed this post have down voted whatever he's referring to. I hate to even respond but he sounds like a very scary person who needs help and apparently works with us.
Lol.... Down by 14....nothing better to do in mommy's basement. Looozauuuur.
@dg
They aren’t using the perimeter to fire people. Because they don’t want to give out the “retention incentive” if they don’t have to. It hits the bottom line of crown castle. The buyer isn’t paying that. They are just saying they won’t buy us if we don’t have the minimum level of staffing. So it’s only somewhat of an incentive.
Just checked out the Zayo page on this site and seen someone reported 10% layoff that happened in 1-2 weeks ago.
Correct, if EQT or Zayo doesn't take them then the question is who is left holding the bag.
The work act requires 90 day notice for layoff and that usually means 90 days severance because they don't want you working with ill will. Is being identified as perimeter legally a 90 day notice in disguise? Could be. If you're officially notified as perimeter I'd pay attention to the wording of anything you're given.
Then, dependant on state law, one of the companies will take the hit on unemployment.
Um they are "perimeter" because they will likely not be needed as part of the sale nor to remain at crown. Geeze. There are people staying, People that are going, and people that probably won't be needed (perimeter). My G*d what has happened to the education in this country.
@ah I don't see Crown firing perimeter people as they are needed with divestiture. Who knows what Zayo and EQT will do.
DS seemed surprised people still didn’t know if they were or were not on the permitter list and the other guy SP didn’t say anything which is telling, he seems to not care about anyone but his image for we can see. At least DS seems to actually give a cr-p and is human?
@ac so you are saying they might start firing perimeter folks to avoid severance payout?
@ab that is a good question. If you read the rules that were put out since June 6, it sounds like if they lay you off, you get a full severance package based on tenure. What it doesn't say is if they downright just fire you. So the question is will you, or will you not get a severance package. Everyone would like to say yes, but DS couldn't answer questions with a straight face today so I would rather take my chances in a snake pit. I thought the family value pics in the background were a bit cliche. F what they do to your family but hey whatever.
Perimeter peeps, what happens to them if zayo or eqt fails to give them offer letters? Is this the concern here or am I reading this wrong?!?
Oh, one more thing @a2......who said I am a guy. Freaking simplistic l-wlife.
Wow, jumpy are we. I didn't use the word "opacity". The person asking the question did and I have posted like 2 msgs here, and definitely nothing more than 50 words. Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder d*ckhead.
"Opacity"? You're the guy that keeps posting the 500 word essay on people rowing. Right? If you were half as smart as you think you are you'd know the audience. No one here is looking Intellectual (psuedo) diatribes. You sound like a complete a**hole.
