Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Next town hall - end of july

This means the big layoffs are going to hit in the next 2 weeks.

Town hall will be used for Farley to comfort us after the cuts.

@r7 - I noticed that too. LL5s/LL4s are retiring. I suspect they wanted to retire by year-end, but decided to pull that ahead so they are not the ones handing out the layoff notices. They would rather be remembered in a positive note.

@OP. I don't think so. No insider info, just common sense. There a few managers "retiring" in July/August. Some of them pretty abruptly. It reminds me of 2019, when my manager, out of the blue, decided to "retire" and two months after his retirement, we lost lots of people.

So, based on my previous experience, I would say something "is cooking" upstairs, and we'll see it this year. When exactly? IDK. Maybe September?

Our LL4 said no layoffs this year - my LL6 asked him directly. Next year more uncertainty though.

Every day I come to this site, the top story is "layoffs next week". I guess someone will right eventually.

This town hall was originally scheduled for July 24 but was moved a few months ago to July 31. There might be some information there.
