850K Vehicles Recalled

What in the world is going on?

Clearly, leaders and executives have to be fired over this? Right?

Clearly the company strategy worked. Don't listen to proven Leaders, outsource Engineering, Design, & Manufacturing to countries that have never developed vehicles. Staff program leads with non-experienced personnel (completely unfair to some of the young smart amazing employees requited to be put in these positions), and on and on and on. Wow, another recall, what a shock! Another vehicle issue, we are shocked. Warranty costs up, labor costs down, that's the plan.

The issue, according to the recall documents, is the fuel pump gets clogged with smugness. One issue stems from contamination of the jet pump in low-fuel situations, which can lead to loss of fuel pressure and flow from the low-pressure fuel pump. The other stems from reduced fuel pump internal clearances, which can increase internal friction and sensitivity to vapor lock. Without proper pressure, the flow and fuel delivery to the engine can be starved, leading the engine to stall while driving.

That’s just not fair. Jim’s doing a great job on the race track, and spends lots of time preparing for his podcasts. You think he has time to worry about product quality?

My team is currently working 60 hours a week on big defects that will cause major recalls in 2027

Don't worry. The latest round of mandatory "3 strikes and you're out" statistical analysis and 8D training for all GSR under Chuck will fix everything.

Clearly not the leaders/executives fault that everyone’s “velocity is low”. Pick up the pace underlings.
