Folks, remember that Ford hired many many BlackBerry employees years ago. These people were failures at that company and they came to Ford to poison it too. The software is horrible and it's obvious why - they are incompetent.
Also they all hire their friends and family.

Hmm, Trump says manufacture in America or I’ll shut you down. So Ford shuts down Ontario manufacturing to shift to US. Canada says, hire engineers in Canada and we will give you grants and tax breaks, so Ford shifts software engineering to Canada, Seems like the good ol US of A is regressing.

@b2 - I agree that GSR folks are pretty good, but their empire building leadership has ruined the culture. Everyone knows how they operate but cannot do anything, FNV4 might have cost Ford billions, but has exposed those BB folks more tbh.
BB was a failure and they brought in the BB folks who were stuck at BB because they weren't good enough to find new work before BB closed down...or they were waiting for a layoff at BB - which is even worse.

At the GSR level, the former BB employees have been great to work with. But their upper leaders are empire builders that don’t play with anyone.
BB folks were brought in to change the way Ford did SW, not more of the same. Did we deliver better software compared to suppliers? politics and backstabbing from their leadershiip is just the icing…
@as precisely. OP can hate some of the BB leaders as much as they want but the fact that many new capabilities were enabled by the ex-BB folks is undeniable. These people were not the reason why BB failed. It's the executive leadership. And, I see a similar pattern emerging at Ford now.
Ford is ahead of the competition because of the BlackBerry folks. QNX is the future and saved Ford! Ford sync was nothing without qnx. Believe dat niqqa!
