I don't believe OP is so upset about a transformer.

agree a substation only receives and distributes power from the grid to the consumers..
unless there was going to be any power returned to the grid from the FAB (highly doubtful),
so it is a sunken cost until something is there to consume very large amounts of power!!
This has been posted before. It is a sub station not a power plant. When the site gets sold that will become a data center so the sub station will not be a waste.
They could still put this thing on the GRID and sell the power to other parts of the country, unless it's an isolated station..
