@aa that's true, but that incurs a lot of shipping and handling costs. Ford partners with Kinkos/FedEx. The laid off employees had to drive to a local FedEx/Kinkos and drop off the equipment. Ford pays Kinkos to box and ship it back to Ford.

A friend in the Ford Performance organization just received an invite from the Global Director of Ford Performance for a 3-hour all hands meeting on July 23. All local employees are required to attend in person at the FXC.
It lines up with you are saying.
If you're cut from home, they just shut off your AD access to the laptop after some amount of hours and you can't get the severance if you don't return it within some time.
