I guess most of Intel employees got their salary raises effectively starting from July. What an irony to get a salary raise and be laid off the same month.

the most important part new paycheck is used for severance pay, so still worth it!

It is like the cabbage for sale. First the price is raised, then on sale, then wait for the shop to get closed.
That's what happened to me. Got an exceeds expectations on my review, along with a nice raise. I'll get exactly 2 paychecks with it, but at least they use it to calculate my payout.
Happened to me too. Raise this month, getting laid off end of the month.
On the bright side, your severance package rate will be based on your salary after the raise.
Yeah - had a promo in 2024 , raise in April, out in November. Bright side is youll get a better pay out on weeks of pay.
