End of fiscal is almost here! Axe is about to fall!!!!!
Don't Worry. Everything will be alright. Otherwise: why don't you worry about when you will get cancer? when you will die? when something bad will happen to you? etc.
Cisco always restructures at end of fiscal year, moving money between business units. This restructuring causes layoffs. The size of the layoff and the impact on specific business units varies. I have seen years when there were no layoffs in my specific business units but never two years in a row without layoffs. I have seen layoff notifications as early as July and as late as November.
Last year, they announced layoffs mid august with year end fiscal report and it took about a month to process paperwork before notices were given. However, I find the timing to vary a lot.
Usually managers start making lists a month before notifications so you just need info from one or two managers. Typically, someone may post here. It helps if you know some managers that are willing to talk.
Unfortunately, some people find it fun to send out false layoff warnings so info here is may not be reliable.
You'll know when you know. What good is worrying going to do for you? If you are that worried, you should prep for the next step and then either relax and do your job or look for another job/company. But regarding any news, yes there will always be layoffs at Cisco. That's the news.

Minimal layoff in August, minimal layoff in November —should be safe until calendar year 26. Enjoy!
