While I admire the people who are fast asleep right now because they think they're safe, I think they’re in for a rude awakening come morning. These layoffs will have nothing to do with merit or knowledge and everything to do with how much you’re paid. It is that simple. Unless you’re part of the ELT or someone high up is actively protecting you, you’re not safe.

I'm safe. Grade 6 high performer, pay right in the middle of scale. Not worried one bit. Even if I did get the axe, I'm in a good place financially. The 3 newer people in my group that were cut, they had reason to worry.

Coasting folks with max grade and Max pay scale Should have taken the voluntary separation package last September. This is what happens when you push your luck.
If your a +20 year vet at maximum grade and pay scale you are toast
