What is wrong with this vehicle? Why are they offering so much incentive? Is it worth buying even with such deep discount?

When Ford gives me an Escape for free, and leaves $9000 in the glovebox, I would be happy to drive it. Until then, it's a piece of junk and will never buy one!
Consumer Reports recommends that buyers avoid the Escape and buy the Honda CRV instead. That’s why the company has to discount the Escape so much.
I had a 2015 Ford Escape for 10 years. It saved my life when I was t-boned. Never had a problem with that car. Best car I ever had.

They are not bad vehicles. The problem with that is the Bronco is the same vehicle and they want Covid money still for them.
It’s not new, it’s the EV tax credit. Ford takes it in place of you if you lease. As a result you get a cheaper lease and can buy the vehicle out after lease.

They are clearing inventory as the escape is being discontinued

I have this car, cannot say I would buy, but as a lease , quite nice, I don’t even plug it, 40+ mpg
Toyota and Honda are selling their comparable vehicles at a premium (not discount) with a waiting period due to high demand. That says a lot about the Ford quality. Ford su-ks.
