@fw Here's an idea: let people feel however they're going to feel. Just because you don't see them getting laid off as a big deal, it doesn't mean it's not important to them.
Move on folks. It's not that hard... yall act like this is only place to work.
@bk, you mean a Seiko that stops ticking?
@a5 I heard the same today from a coworker in NM. Factory managers have the names as of today.
There's not really a good way to do a big layoff. You expecting some kind of countdown timer to replace the lock screen on the computer? How was Microsoft or Meta's recently executed series of layoffs any better?
Is the Rolex still part of the package for those of us with 10 or more years of service?
Hand in your badge - here's your coffee, banana and 50ry lanyard.
Employment off is that way.
Don't let the automatic door hit you in the a-s.
@at - Q3? That’s the latest I have heard of anyone.
LIPBU is allowing this tells how bad things are --
"They did what they've always done with layoffs: they put the people who should be fired in charged of deciding who gets laid off. So what you get is valuable people getting the boot because their useless managers are protecting their friends."
LIPBU has already failed and he doesn't know it.
It’s pretty obvious they’re in a full panic and making everything up on the fly. That’s why there’s no comms.
We’re not even into the thick end of a recession yet and it’s round 2 of deep cuts. We’re all gonna be dead by 2027.
I've been anticipating it for so long that I'll be disappointed if I don't get laid off
@aw And don’t forget that those making the decisions like to cut those with the technical and mgmt experience to challenge them. Big problem in SAI.
@a4 They did what they've always done with layoffs: they put the people who should be fired in charged of deciding who gets laid off. So what you get is valuable people getting the boot because their useless managers are protecting their friends.
@ab I am a7 who posted below. They got packages which were same/comparable to last year's package.
Meanwhile the most my org will tell us in their announcement is "sometime in the 3rd quarter"
Walk out with your head held high. Don’t let them steal your dignity. Don’t give em that satisfaction. What a horrible disgrace of a company. Arrogance destroyed an American icon.
I don't believe OP isn't Captain Obvious.
@am I 100% agree!!
Bye Felicia!
@ad Employees wouldn’t have to ask and chase rumors if we were given a bit of respect and transparency. The way this is being handled is disgraceful.
for the 1000th time.....Yes people who get laid off will get a package. Packages will vary depending what region you are in.
@a7 are there packages for layoff this round and what will that be?
Two people from my team (in the US) were notified in the week of June 15th. Their last day is July 15th. So it is almost two weeks already since th notifications began.
Had 1 friend in NEX and 1 friend in DC get notified last week and yesterday. Somewhat special circumstances based on their manager not being availabile next week.
@a3 announcements. sources will remain anonymous. managers have names. again, announcements will be made.
Some notifications have already happened and more will happen after July. There’s no transparency, rhyme, or reason to this sh-tshow
Who is your source? All comms have said July 15-31.
