Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Layoffs won’t matter to faster or better results

Lip-Bu and the board as well as senior leaders are on a failed path.

Intel’s failure the past decade has been strategy and execution.

Failure is about the right leadership driving right strategy and good execution.

Layoffs without real leadership and culture change is just futile effort.

Yeah the 29% of engineers and 30 to 50% of Gr11+ cut will help with cost, it’ll do nothing to fix the strategy nor execution issue.

If Intel didn’t have the right strategy before after the layoffs and no culture change it will just fail faster.

All signs are there after layoff the poor souls still here will just fail faster

You guys aren't the only people who have looked at Intel's balance sheet. If you really believe the company is doomed, you should take whatever money you have and put it all into Intel put options. You can buy the 20 strike Dec 27 puts for about 4.15 mid. If it goes to zero sometime between now and next few years, you'll make about $1600 per contract. Do that full margin. A lot of people here think they know something the rest of the market doesn't...

His objective of goal was never to fix Intel. I am not sure why people are confused by this current status?

I actually see a culture change after Lip-Bu came, my inbox is pretty quiet. There is no fluff with annoucements of 3 fat leaders and reorgs each quarter. Previous way of measuring performance has been dismissed, that's also a positive. The lack of clear vision ahead is pretty scary tho, but nobody can have it figured out straight up. I don't believe too much in Lip-Bu, but you can't deny that layoffs are necessary, it's ridiculous how much overhiring was under Pat. And the layers of management kept increasing.

It is failing and there is no way that it will get back up. A miracle is necessary to save this company now, which i don't see happening any time soon. They will just keep laying off more people and hire new ones for less and finally sell it off at some point. I'm pretty sure the board realized this by now.

G10 and G11 are the only ones who can afford to be laid off…
