Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Nielsen way or not legal

Nielsen completely changed the Field Representative position by adding Membership Representative duties to it. The pay remains exactly the same except for $100 bonus per install if it goes QFM which can stop at anytime since it's not part of the salary. The SMP training is a ish show. SMP ready is more work, more homes, same pay. Legal or not?

If you’re still at Nielsen as a FR, there’s something obviously wrong with you! You’re not the best of the best because you made it through these cuts. You’re too lazy to find another job, too lazy to purchase a personal vehicle and too lazy to get your own personal phone. When the storm hits you, your unpreparedness will be your own fault.

Nielsen has been doing this kind of cr-p for years. Nothing new. Make everyone work harder for the same or less. It was even worse on the client facing side when I was still a corporate hack years ago. In fact when Nielsen purchased Arbitron and the online biz (NetRatings), most of those clients were dumped on us "TV guys." I'm talking dozens of new contracts/relationships to maintain...same cr-ppy pay. I remember around 2015 after receiving about 30 new clients (I cr-p you not) thinking that...ok..this is funny...I'm literally going to get fired because I literally will have to work 15 hr days and maybe have a heart attack or something to keep my job! Lol A few years laters I was gone, thank god.

Kind of scary how little foresight some people here have. Start looking for a new job. That is the ONLY way forward from this sinking ship.

You keep beating a dead horse with this company and the FR / MR roles..

Nielsen is a complete sh*t show as is their measurement model. If it were me, I’d stop worrying about the duties of the job and focus on finding another one. No position one would want to hold on to has constant layoffs and consolidation of its duties.

If it were so great and relevant, there would be expansions of the teams and pay, not the opposite.

Unions can’t stop anything. It just adds a step that Nielsen would need to negotiate with the Union on some changes, not even all, and by the way, we’d (FRs) would be paying dues. Nothing is guaranteed with unions! During one negotiation, we nearly lost the personal use of our company vehicle. I’m glad it didn’t go through.

What Membership duties did they add? How has the position completely changed?

Import the third world and you become the third world! This is what happens when Indians are running the show...

@ah I agree. Nielsen should’ve become unionized a long time ago to protect the field reps, both field and membership. Field reps are getting shafted and being taken advantage of. Management doesn’t care about the increased stress levels they are putting on the field. I honestly believe they would like to see people quit instead of paying severance or unemployment. It’s disgusting.

It doesn't matter - we're not unionized. As long as we continue without a union, leadership can do whatever they want. This is why we need to form one, but it always fails because not enough support.
