@OP i have this thought each time too. The job market is tough right now. Hang in there and keep applying.
You only get 1w per year of tenure. So there’s no use waiting it out, if you find something better then jump at it.
You can't afford to be laid off either. Just get out of there if you're so miserable.
Sounds like you should just find a reason to charge more to indirect labor (IDL) or find a program that's winding down? If your IDL is high, it'll put you towards the top of the list. Just be aware that the severance might be peanuts (1 week per year, yikes, that's low). Best of luck with your situation!
